   This may be a dumb question. Can anyone tell me how to set the correct time at the wordpress admin panel? Thanks.

   You have to know your own time zone, your server's time zone and the difference compared to GMT (UTC). Use +/- in the box that says: "...should differ..."

   In the admin panel, under Options -> General. There is a field for difference in hours from UTC.
