Do you just mean that you want drop down menu items? You do that by dragging the items you want to drop down onto your menu in Dashboard –> Appearance –> Menus and ensuring they are offset to the right of their parent item in the list of items.

Hi, PAE –
Yes, that’s exactly what I meant. Thanks.
This solution, while simple enough, is a bit more “manual” than I had expected. Is there a way to automate this based on pages’ parents?
Thanks again.
Not that I know of. You could suggest it to the developers if you like. But what if you produced a page and didn’t want it on the menu? Not an unusual scenario.
🙂

Not if you want to use a custom navigation menu but it is possible using wp_list_pages and CSS.
Thanks, esmi. I’ve used a plugin based on that in the past. I found that it made for some fairly big downloads, as the entire menu structure (not just what was visible) was loaded for every page. I was hoping to streamline and avoid that.
