  • I’ve just upgraded both my websites and the media uploader are not working on both. Is this going to fix the issue?
If the .htaccess is hidden, how do you find it?

I used FileZilla to navigate to my wp-includes folder. You should see the .htaccess file, if not this may not be the same issue you’re having.

I use another FTP client…but I have no .htaccess file in there.
    How to troubleshoot now??

There is no .htaccess file in the wp-includes folder by default.

We’re aware esmi. For some reason there was an .htaccess file in my wp-includes folder. When removed the issues listed in the subject were resolved.

I’m currently chatting with my host..they don’t know what the issue can be.

    So…how can I troubleshoot?

You can try downgrading to a previous version of WordPress. Here is the download link: http://wordpress.org/download/release-archive/ Instructions: Using your chosen FTP client replace the files included EXCEPT the folder named “wp-content” and the file named “wp-config-sample.php”.

Make sure to backup your databases before doing so.

@bboi: I do not doubt it but your situation is not common. Therefore your solution will not apply to most users.

@lovefortech.com: Please post a new topic describing your specific issue(s).

@esmi Thanks for your reply. If it helps 1 person it will be worth it! The fixes provided by others did nothing to resolve my issue.

You can try downgrading to a previous version of WordPress.

Please be aware that this is not recommended and also requires that you restore a database backup that was taken from the previous version of WordPress. Also, it is unlikely to solve media upload issues.

Wasn’t an issue for me at all!

OK guys…thanks so much for your support: my host has resolved the issue. One of the engineers did I don’t know what and fixed the issue. I was so happy that I forgot to ask him what he did :-/

    Cheers
