• I have a company blog hosted through a shared hosting provide (blogs.myblogsite.net), so we can test WordPress. The site is hosted on a Linux box with Apache.

Our main Web site domain (www.example.com), hosted by our organization on site, uses an entirely different domain name and platform. This site is hosted on a Windows 2003 server with IIS6.

Using .htaccess is it possible to rewrite my RSS feed URLs on my shared hosting blog account (blogs.myblogsite.net/?feed=rss2&category_name=podcasts) so it uses my corporate site’s URL, say something like http://www.example.com/news/podcasts.

I want our users to subscribe to our blogs using or main corporate domain and not the domain for our shared hosting account. I thought about creating an RSS parser on our corporate domain located http://www.example.com/news/podcasts.

At any rate, I’m confused just trying to explain this. Any suggestions or is this impossible to do?

  • Matt has all his feeds at rss.photomatt.net… I’ve been yearning to figure out how he re-wrote this… Its gotta be great for stats, etc because it removes all the rss hits from your normal stats and you can then track them on the subdomain
