  • I am revamping my blog and want to put some of the pages under a parent heading eg Product Reviews – then list the different reviews that are currently posted as separate pages – to come under that parent heading

  • Hi, sounds likewp_list_pages would answer your needs:

Thanks for that – I clicked on that link – but I don’t have a clue what I am supposed to do with that information

    Try creating a custom menu.

Hi – I have already done that and have put the relevant pages under the custom menu – but they don’t show on the site – they still show as the original pages.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

According to one of the pages on this site – on how to add pages it says you can manage your pages under the parent page, but doesn’t explain how to set up a parent page so that other pages can go under it.

Hmmm I think I may just have found the answer

    Organizing Your Pages

Simply leave the Parent dropdown set to No parent.

That doesn’t work as then each one is a page in its own right – I have created a parent page then put the relevant pages under that parent page and it works fine.

I am now working out how to order the pages that display at the top of my blog – They are currently showing in the order they were created – so need to work out how to change that order to make more sense. eg I want Welcome to be first not somewhere in the middle.

    You asked:

but doesn’t explain how to set up a parent page so that other pages can go under it.

I am now working out how to order the pages that display at the top of my blog

As I suggested previously, try creating a custom menu.

As I just said I have now found out how to create a parent page and as it is working fine I don’t need to create a custom menu

    Thanks for your help
