   I've opened My account from the Dashboard and there is no listing of the API key.

   Any ideas?

   One idea. Read the link there on the Akismet plugin on your plugins page. :-D

   In summary, you want an API key from wordpress.COM.

   So, off you go to wordpress.COM to sign up for a free blog. Yes, that gives you a free blog. No, you need not EVER use it!!! Just log into once, get the key, and run back to your own blog and enter the key.

   I am afraid you are posting in the wrong forum: you can get the akismet thing :) by opening an account at wordpress.COM and they also have their own forum:
