    Here’s the scenario:

We’re looking to automate a system that we’re doing by hand using the Donation Can plugin currently. Working with a non-profit, they allow the public to request a page on their website to use as their personal fundraising landing page. On that page then, in the sidebar, is the Donation Can widget, with a goal created specifically for that user so that any donations given through that page can be traced back to that person. The organization tells the board members you have to raise $XXXX for our giving campaign, and we’re tracking you. Get to it!

But as it is, each time someone requests a page, our admin has to create the page, create the donation can cause and insert the donation can widget into that page.

We can obviously automate the page creation, but I wonder if you have an option for which we could leave the shortcode for your plugin in the newly created page, and somehow trace giving back to that page. Is that possible as it is? With modifications?

Thoughts? If that even makes sense?

There are SaaS solutions like this (see Razoo and Fund.ly), but we’re looking for something within WordPress.

    Hi Angie (right name?),

Thanks for your message and I know what you mean! The additional fields are certainly a possibility, though I’m trying to figure out how to best solve it.

The “page” solution is what I have in the roadmap as “projects”, they won’t be built as pages, but also as a custom post type. This way you can set a donation target and have a progress bar displayed. You’d be able to edit it the same way as a page, but would just have additional meta information available.

Does that help explain some things?

    Cheers

    Hi Noel,

I really like the plugin and Stripe integration, but would love to see some way to set a donation target and have a progress bar displayed. Is that something that we can use in the near future?

    Thanks,
    Yvonne

    Hi Yvonne,

Yep, that’s part of the original roadmap on the plugin page as well as here:
