[Plugin: NextGEN Custom Fields] Russian language in Ngg Custom fields

    Hi syru. Unfortunately I didn’t know much about wordpress and setting encodings and collations when I built this plugin.
    I have since been able to fix NGG Custom Fields to allow UTF-8 chars, so I assume it wouldn’t be too difficult fixing NGG Voting too.

    I just need to find the time to make the effort. I guess I should internationalise the plugin and it’s front end messages at the same time, but that’s a bigger job.

    Thank you for your reply shauno. I dont use NGG voting:) I’m trying to save data in NGG Custom Fields, but I get ???? marks instead of letters when I try to write russian letters and then save.

    Changed encoding type in MSQL database to UTF_8 and it works just fine now 🙂

    Sorry syru, I was busy with NGG Voting with someone else when I saw your post, and I got mixed-up 🙂 It’s weird that it didn’t work by default though.
    Is this the first install of NGG CF, or did you upgrade from an older version?
    I will try find time to look into why it didn’t work without manually changing the database type.
