• Like many other people I have been having problems with my Worpress sites, specifically when I hover over menu items the pop outs don’t appear, and when I go to a post/edit/create/page/post page the TinyMCE editor simply doesn’t load, I cants switch from HTML to visual or the other way around, no buttons show up, and anything I type in to the box is in ‘white’ text.

Needless to say this is frustrating, I have tried every possible solution without success.

Today I logged in to one of my sites through my work computer, and my site works flawlessly, ask my wife to recheck it on my laptop, and the site still doesn’t work.

So it seems the issue with my WordPress back end is not necessarily my sites, but my computer. Now I have already tried things like clearing cache, deleting temporary files, etc etc, but what could I have missed that is causing these problems?

The only thing I have that is not actually updated is probably Flash, but I dont see how that would cause an issue to the WordPress admin interface.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Interesting addition on my home computer the vSlider on the homepage doesnt show (http://www.seochemist.com) and the pop out ‘follow me’ button doesn’t work, or at least they didn’t last time I checked. Its working fine on my work computer though.

Then it’s an issue with your home computer – not WordPress.

But what kind of issue with my home PC could cause this? it works fine with previous versions of WordPress.

The big issue is not necessarily that it is a problem with my PC, judging by the number of people who have had a similar problem, but an incompatibility with WordPress and a certain PC configuration. Could be anything from Avast antivirus to some weird browser setting.

IE. if it turned out that WP3.3.1 had issues with all XP machines would it be a wp or windows conflict?

WordPress 3.3.1 does not have an issue with XP machines. I access one of my own 3.3.1 blogs via an XP netbook regularly.

But what is the common denominator that’s causing this. running the non-critical windows updates now after which will try updating flash, and disabling avast as well, really need to narrow down what is causing this problem.
