• Hi,

I’ve just installed the latest wordpress for the first time(3.3.1) for a new site. When on a page in admin, I always used to be able to select a page template in the right sidebar under “Page Attributes”, it had a dropdown to select a template.

However this option is no longer there, how do I select a different template now for each page?

    Thanks.

No I didn’t use a plugin for it, the option was always just there. You could select a template with sidebar or full width template or add your own.

    you may try

    single-books.php
    or
    single-custom.php

add them to the theme folder

have you checked the ‘screen options’ button near the top right of that ‘edit page’ to see if the tickbox for ‘Page Attributes’ is ticked?

I re-activated the default theme, seen the option to select templates under “Page Attributes”, re-activated my custom theme and the option is now there so don’t know why it wasn’t there, but it’s showing now anyway.
