Ecoomerce plugin and the original theme .storefrontthemes.com

Today I purchased the original theme from store front themes.com and uploaded it to my site that had 2011 wp theme installed and all seemed fine, but then I noticed that the grid on the front page did not display images only text, the 2nd store page did not have the paypal buy it button nor did any of the links work as they did on the 1st page. The administrator on the designers forum said that this is an issue with the ecommerce plugin and nothing to do with the theme.
Can anyone suggest a solution please or should I reinstall the ecommerce plugin once more and if I do will the 200 items in the store be lost ?
I bought the Gold ecommerce plugin, but even disabled it does not make any difference.
Both plugins were only downloaded this week.
I have gone back to 2011 theme and again there are no images nor the paypal button as above.
