    thank you. What do i enter for details in the config file?

    You have to enter:

    host: localhost (99% this is the valus)
    db name: “your database name”
    db username: “your db username to access the database”
    db password: “your password for db username”

    and prefix of the db “wp_” leave it as default.

    @beewinter – you need to create a database and user for that database. That’s what’s added to the config file, database name, user name, and user password.

    Probably you should have been provided with a cpanel or so called control panel where you can administrate these stuffs, create db, users, password, assign user for a database.

    Also you can make use of phpmyadmin if your host provides you. Cpanel isthe best way to install WordPress for newbies. If you have any trouble, I shall do my best to help you out.
