[Plugin: Forums] Poor user integration

After spending over 12 hours setting up an extensive forum with over 100 topics, I realized (sadly to late) that ALL active blog members could NOT access this new forum. Try as I might to get users able to log in effortlessly (only once to my blog) and NOT again to access the forum – it just didn’t work.
All of a sudden – when I tried to switch from one admin item to another, I had to log in again and again and again.
THEN . . .
I then tested ‘registering’ to access the nested forum in my blog. Still very awkward. No “validation code” appeared – only an error message. Of course, no registration would complete itself with NO validation code displayed.
Thought I’d bypass that verification code by turning it off. No such luck!
Ended up deleting the entire plugin and related database files.
Clearly – NOT a stable wordpress plug in!
SAD to say – 12 hours spent to learn a lesson! Lesson? To test things out completely BEFORE setting up all those forums.
