Popup window not working in IE

I have written a code that enables the videos on my site to open in a new and customized window. It seems to work great in Safari and FireFox but for some reason Internet Explorer opens the new window and then waits to load the entire video before playing it in yet another window. Can anyone tell me what might be causing this problem? Thank you for your help.
