Having a hard time trying to use it, I added it to my site via FTP, and I go to wp-shortstat.php in the webbrowser and get:
—
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_settings() in /home/dinggusc/public_html/wp-shortstat.php on line 27
—
Also, this script doesn’t work with the newest WordPress.
Add it (via FTP) to your /wordpress/wp-content/plugin/ folder and then activate it from within the wordpress dashboard/plugins section.
It should work okay. I’m using it on 4 sites.
Another one you can look at is the WordPress Plugin: PopStats
http://www.deltablog.com/2005/10/05/wordpress-plugin-popstats/
or
http://sitemeter.com/
Okay its activated, now how do I make it work?
You don’t need to do anything else.
Go to Dashboard and you’ll see a menu item top/right that says ShortStat. Click on it and it will show you how many people/hits etc your site receives over time.
Markus at http://blog.happyarts.de/wp-shortstat/ is a nice guy and I am sure he will help you with anything specific…
Happy blogging!
Well supposely this WP-ShortStat doesn’t work on the newest version of WordPress.
I second croila’s mention of statcounter. It’s what I use and it works well.
what about the “counterize” plugin by Anders Nielsen? …
http://linux.linux.dk/projects/counterize/
I have liked this …
Countersize didn’t work 🙁 Maybe someone can help me install it, its activated but no Table 🙁
So right now I’m using statcounter.com
no table? explain ..
if you uploaded per the instructions, you should notice hits to your site under MANAGE -> COUNTERIZE ….
also, when you login in on your dashboard there is a stat display …
G’day Dinggus >>Well supposely this WP-ShortStat doesn’t work on the newest version of WordPress.
The updated version of WP-ShortStat at this site (blog.happyarts.de/wp-shortstat/) does work with WP2x — I have it running on 4 sites…
I’ve used the counterize Plugin since December. Works great!
