Ready to launch, with a couple misc. question

    I am ready to launch my first WordPress site (http://ultimatebasictraining.com/admin/) . I’m very excited, but there are a couple miscellaneous things I can’t seem to get to work

    1) I would like to allow comments, but only on some pages. I can see the checkbox to allow comments on a page, but when checked, I don’t see any comment box appear for some reason

    2) I can’t seem to get my footers to work. In the sidebar option in my panel, I click the footers section and it states “widget”. All I have is some text I want to put in, I am not sure where this “widget” is located or what to do with it.

    Sorry if these questions are very basic, I’m new!

    1) Ability to comment has to be written into your theme. You should see something like <?php comments_template(); ?> in page.php and single.php

    2) That depends on your theme. Some themes have a widget area in the footer. If so, you can drag a text widget there and put whatever text into it you want. You can see widget areas under Appearance > Widgets.
