[Plugin: Pronamic Google Maps] Adapt to use existing location data in custom post fields?

Hi.

I’m using the Nine To Five theme, which is an employment management system, which also includes custom post meta to record and display the job’s location on the map.

All of this works fine, except I would like to display all job’s locations pinned on a single map.

Can I adapt PGM to use existing location data in custom post fields?

Essentially, I’d like to know which files to edit to adjust the database look up fields when obtaining a geo location.

You should not adjust the plugin files, but maybe you can do something with the “get_{$meta_type}_metadata” filter.

function prefix_get_post_metadata($value, $object_id, $meta_key, $single) {
	if($meta_key == '_pronamic_google_maps_latitude' && $single) {
		$value = 'retrieve your own custom post field data';
	}
	if($meta_key == '_pronamic_google_maps_longitude' && $single) {
		$value = 'retrieve your own custom post field data';
	}
	return $value;
}

add_filter('get_post_metadata', 'prefix_get_post_metadata', 10, 4);
