• I just discovered ReciPress last night and I’m amazed. Thank you Tammy!

I’m planning to use for a project which will hopefully help me make some profit, so I’m very happy that I see you’re supporting your plugin’s upgrades enthusiastically in this forum.

I was wondering if you’d include the following features in your plugin, either in the free or in the pro version:

    1. Multiple recipes in one post.
    2. Multiple cuisines/courses in one recipe.
    3. Language support: My site is in Greek and I’ve hardcoded the translations of the output (e.g. servings, cost, etc.). I’m pretty sure these translations will be lost in future updates of Recipress, so is there a way that they won’t be lost?

So glad you like the plugin! It’s my goal to have pro ready for first release by the end of January.

    To answer your feature requests:

    1. I do plan on having the ability to have multiple recipes but only for things like multiple parts to the same recipe. For instance, if the dish requires a certain sauce, you can add an auxiliary recipe. I haven’t completely figured out how I want to manage this, so I’d love your feedback. I was thinking you could add an auxiliary recipe by selecting another post with a recipe from a list. So in other words, you would be required to create a post just about that sauce recipe, and then you could add just the recipe to another recipe. Another option is to create these auxiliary recipes without posts and give you the option to add them. This could cause confusion for the user though: “Should I put my sauce in a regular post or.. what’s this auxiliary thing for? I’m confused; I give up.”

    2. I don’t have any plans for adding multiple cuisine/course options in the near future.

    3. I do plan on loacalizing the plugin, I just rushed it out the door and then this fell lowest on the priority list. It will be in the next release for sure.

    Thanks for your prompt response.

I was thinking that the auxiliary recipes function would be better for the user if they could just link any recipes (not just one) together and sort of embed them in a collapsible/expandable menu.

    For example, if I enter:

    [recipe]
    [recipe 81]
    [recipe 93]

that would show my main recipe and the below it, it would show recipes with those IDs and they can be anything.

That way the same sauce can be used in more recipes over time, not just one.

    Just saying.

I could add in that ability to the short code pretty easy. It would be better UX if I added a TinyMCE button and let the user select a list of recipes from a dropdown list, rather than making them find the ID themselves = not as easy.

At any rate, I’m not adding any new features to the free version at this time as I’m putting all my focus on getting the pro version out by the end of this month and just supporting the current version. If something like this does get added, that’s where you’ll find it.

Thank you, that’s good to know.

Hopefully, I will know if my project that I’m trying to launch will have any interest, so you might have me as a client by the EOM.

related to the features, i would request to add a divider option while adding instructions
    i.e for a pizza recipe

    For Dough:
    ingredient 1 2 3 4 …

    For Pizza
    ingredient 1 2 3 4 …

    thanks

Thanks Tammy for a great plugin! I would also love the ability to add multiple recipes, this would be prefect when I do blog posts with several related recipes. I’d be happy to pay for this if you made it a pro feature.

Thanks Tammy for a wonderful plugin! Looking forward for new releases soon
