    I don’t think it’s your custom CSS as I used Firebug to remove your child-theme CSS and the problem is still there.

    What file is being used to generate single pages? If it’s a file you’ve edited for your child theme, I suggest you revert back to the file from the default Twenty Eleven theme and then make your changes again bit by bit, checking after each major change to make sure the stretching problem is not there.
