Hello. Just wanna ask how to link for example a word to a specific item on a post. Does the question sounds vague? Well I’m not really sure how to describe it. Normally when we link, we link to a different post or other webpages. It’s not what I’m talking about. I’m looking for a way to link a word from a post to another item on that post. Does it makes sense?

I was thinking of way probably a little similar for “go up” (top) or “go down” (bottom) buttons you commonly see on a forum but functions more dynamically.

  • Links within a single post are called ‘anchor links’. Here is a short tutorial on using them:

If you install the TinyMCE Advanced plugin on your site, it will add a button to the editing icons that will insert or edit an anchor link.

Thanks vtxyzzy! I heard anchor links many times and I didn’t know that is it what it is.

What about Links with collapsible contents (or paragraphs) below them, how would you call them? I usually see them on FAQ sections of other websites.

I think your collapsible contents have something like a title to open the contents. The anchor would just take you to the title and a second click would be necessary to open the contents.

There may be a way with java to make it automatically open, but I don’t know enough java to help with that.
