Support » Fixing WordPress » WP-Cron Not Working? (Please Help)

  • Hi,

I am incredibly new to WP-Cron, but have a very decent feel for WP as a whole, but I am completely baffled and am hoping that someone, anyone, out there can give me a hand…

I have set up a WP-Cron job to run every 15 minutes. It’s basically pinging a server and checking to see if some data exists to move a post into “published” state.

What’s bothering me is that the action doesn’t seem to be firing. I have installed numerous “Cron” plugins, and all show me the same thing. It sees that an action is set up to be called every 15 minutes (and other, basic WP actions daily and twice daily), but the “next scheduled run” is always in the past… If I set it to run in 3 minutes, it then hangs at that time after the 3 minutes is up.

What’s more frustrating is that I have the hook set up to write the time the job was fired to the database, and even when I have the hook do nothing but that part, I am not seeing my option updated…

I don’t know why this has been so difficult, or maybe something is turned off/not turned on properly, but I cannot get around this. I’ve been fighting with it for hours and have gotten nowhere.

If anyone can help, it would be very much appreciated!

    Thank you,

    –d
