Hi lzera,
Please, open function.php.
File Path: wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/function.php
.
move on line no. 123:
define( 'HEADER_IMAGE_HEIGHT', apply_filters( 'twentyeleven_header_image_height', 288 ) );
update height as per your requirement.
Example:
define( 'HEADER_IMAGE_HEIGHT', apply_filters( 'twentyeleven_header_image_height', 260 ) );

Hi mr49online,
Thanks for your reply. I have tried this just now but don’t see any changes (even cleared my browser cache). Perhaps I am asking for the wrong thing… I want the image to appear narrower on the page, but even once I’ve changed the function.php number from 288 down to 258 (and even tried 200), the image appears the same. I even held up a tape measure to my laptop monitor! Am I missing something? (Like a brain cell or two)?
hmmm…. ok, now try this please.
style.css(line 530) comment out these lines.
#branding img {
/*height: auto;*/
margin-bottom: -7px;
/*width: 100%;*/
}
or just comment out the height:auto
in above mentioned line.

Bingo! That did it. Thanks so much. You are solving all of my issues tonight! I actually have one other (final) query that I posted in the forum about changing the font type in the header — I don’t want to take up all of your time, but if you have a chance to look, I’d be grateful.
Thanks again!!
that’s cool… 🙂
ok, let me know about that query.
you can also, find such type of solutions on my blog.

Have bookmarked your blog.
The other query that I have is here (and I didn’t see an answer on your blog — I checked!):
