• Custom Page Order worked for my pages but required entering a separate admin page to do that. While on that Order Pages, it wasn’t possible to do anything else with the pages. I was hoping for this plugin to be able to drag and drop pages without leaving the same screen where I can choose to Edit or Quick Edit my pages.

In Drupal 7 most lists are automatically subject to drag and drop. The appropriate four-way cross icon that denotes draggability is added to the right side of draggable items and they can be dragged from it. Similar solution might be easy to implement in this plugin.

After a while of searching, I found Simple Page Ordering to do quite exactly that and to also include an option to limit how many pages are listed at a time. Others looking for these functions may want to try it out.

The description of Custom Page Order also says that it adds the drag and drop ability also for posts and taxonomies. In my quick trial I didn’t find a way to use this on WP 3.3 and plugin version 2.2.
