this small amount of javascript is breaking the search function

The js code below is used for a photo gallery I want to add to a wordpress page. When added, it breaks the search box for the default TwentyEleven them. Specifically, it doesn’t allow you to type a space in between words inside the search box.

Strange problem, thanks for any help.
