• I realize that this isn’t a WordPress problem (I think) but, I am confused about how to solve this so I thought I would post it in the Misc section.

I get the “Great Success! Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server” page (/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi) on my recently setup domain whenever I try to navigate to the domain URL.

The domain is an Addon domain to an account, the primary domain for the account didn’t have this happen. All the other domains I have pointed to accounts on the same host didn’t have the problem.

I installed WP and can access any page/post URL and the admin directory without issue. It is only the front page that has the problem.

I did some searching and the results turned up some conflicting information. Hoping that someone here knows what the problem is and can shed some light on it for me.

  • IS there any default/leftover file in the public directory? (www, html, public_html)

    Especially an index.html

Thank you for the response Rev. There is no leftover file in the root directory for the addon domain.

Did you clear your cache ? Did you try with a different browser ?

I remember having this issue once after going the the url, getting that page as there is nothing installed. Then I installed the page and went back to the URL but I kept getting redirected to the page you are talking.

Just hope your configuration is good. Otherwise, hard to tell.
