I wanted to switch to “Blog” and after lots of work/testing I only every got it to work partially. The “suggestion” text wouldn’t fill, or wouldn’t disappear when the user clicked in the field/box (depending on which hack I used to try this).

Personally I really wish they’d add a few more options/features to P2 like: being able to select the default post type (or fake post type in this case, it’s actually a category) on the home page; make it so the date is a link to the post permalink, since there’s no way to get to the individual post page when there’s no title on updates (or if titles are turned off in settings).

no issues with placeholders on my end like Tevya has
I’m working on a P2 fork with more options and features in the new year and this is one of the things that would be included.
Hmmm… I’ll have to look into it more. When will your forked version be available?
