• I haven’t made any changes to my WP today, but suddenly my 8 nav bar links are either missing, or not displaying correctly. They are supposed to appear in the blue nav bar below the logo dogs, but are displaying in a list on the left side.

I haven’t made any changes or updates to any plugins. Disabling all plugins had no affect either.

I went and looked at my header file and it doesn’t show any links.
You can see how it looked in wayback:

    and now:
    http://sheltienation.com

    Any suggestions? Im lost!

    my site is sheltienation.com

wondering if this could be some sort of javascript error?

The names of the items all appear to be too long in total to fit in the nav bar. Use short names for nav items. Like About or Science.

they are short. you are seeing the wayback code, not my live code. The titles are home, about, etc.

They all fit before today, so Im not sure what happened. My host did upgrade my cpanel, so Im wondering if that might be causing the issue?

I am reviewing the source code on the ‘current’ page linked to…check if your stylesheet was modified during this ‘transition’. It appears to me that you have now too much text to fit.

Yep you are correct, that code is incorrect. I went and viewed the wayback code and it seems my live code was missing an entire chunk.

What worries me is WHY did that code just vanish. I dont mess with my raw code, so I can’t figure out why that would get touched.

Well so far Ive figured out my main problem now is if I publish the pages that are the components of the nav bar, they appear on the left side in addition to the horizontal bar.

I cant figure out the part of the code that allows me to publish pages, without listing them on the left side. I must be missing a snip of code that allows me to publish pages without them appearing as a left side nav bar.

Right now I have all my pages as drafts…except one. Contact is live and appearing twice. Once on left and once in horizontal nav bar. How do I turn off the left side display?

I installed the Exclude Pages plugin and that seemed to fix the problem of double display.
