[Plugin: DB Cache Reloaded Fix] New users cannot log in!

    This plugin has worked well for me, except for a strange conflict with two other plugins which handle user registrations and logins:

    If I use Theme My Login to register a new user when caching the DB, the new user cannot log in through Theme My Login. Similarly, if I use Magic Members to register a new user when caching the DB, the new user cannot log in through Magic Members. New users can, however, log in successfully using the default wp-login.php script.

    Is there a particular kind of DB query I can add to the list of exclusions in the DB cache plugin settings to resolve this problem? At the moment, my only option is to stop using the DB cache plugin completely.

    I am Having the EXACT same issue any solutions please? Did you find the correct Cache filter for this?

    Caderial, I stopped using this plugin eight months ago because of the conflict. I don’t know if there’s a work around for it. Are you using the latest version of the plugin? It’s been updated within the past couple of months. -Fred

    Yeah its a new site with fresh installs of all plugins. I might have to find another solution, what do you use for database caching now since you scrapped this one?

    I came to the conclusion that for very simple, low-traffic websites, caching isn’t really necessary. It doesn’t become a real issue unless the pages are very complex and slow-loading, or there is so much traffic on the site that efficiency is critical. Besides, the browser does some caching anyway, and there are page-caching (not database-caching) plugins for WordPress if you want to do something on the server side.

    Simply put, there’s no need to optimize a site that’s already fast enough.

    If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. 🙂

    P.S. I use the Genesis theme framework for WordPress, which is very well coded. I also use InMotion Hosting for web hosting, and the server response times are generally very good. The combination of Genesis and InMotion may be why my sites seem to work fast enough without any server-side caching. I think it’s more important to use a good theme and a good web host before trying to squeeze out extra performance by caching.

    Someone on another support thread posted the solution you’re looking for!

    Please try the authenticate filter for the DB cache plugin.

    Does that solve the problem for you?
