    Hi,

    thanks for your question.

    Unfortunately, characters from foreign languages can cause trouble with the import, due to the character encoding. This happens due to the mechanism of how the PHP functions and the database works. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find the exact cause for this problem, sorry 🙁

    Import from CSV to WP-table works good for me with Russian characters. You should probably check encoding of your CSV-file.
    If Excel gives you win-1251 you should convert it manually to UTF-8.
    I hope your blog has UTF-8 encoding of course.

    yes, that’s what I meant, aegozov. Thanks for sharing how it worked for you!
    Everything, from the CSV file, to WordPress, to PHP, to mySQL, to the server, … should have UTF-8 as the character set.
