Contributor role

Hello, I’ve installed Role manager to edit contributor role, but there’s a thing I still don’t succeed : is it possible to let the contributor read every post waiting for validation ?
Basically I am a teacher and I’d like to do a collaborative class blog with my students, everyone of them will have a contributor account but I’d love to let them read each other posts even before I validate it.
Is it possible ?

The contributor role has the capability of viewing posts:

Also, that plugin allows you to create new Roles and Capabilities. Users can also have individual capabilities assigned to them outside of the context of a role.

Hi ChristiNi, thanks for answering.
I know that contributor can read posts, but they cannot read posts written by other contributors while thoses posts aren’t validated by a moderator (me).

for example :

c1 : write posts
c2 : see the post from c1 in admin panel but cannot read it
mod : can read and moderate, then accept the post
c1 & c2 : they now can both read the post

You’re right. I’m not sure how exactly you can add that functionality, as the plugin you mentioned allows you to create new capabilities but I do not see documentation on how to setup those capabilities.

You may want to try contacting the author of the plugin or try a different plugin.

There are two other plugins that might help you out:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-access-manager/

and

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/role-scoper/

The second one is god aweful complicated and hell to use but it might be your best shot.
