  • Keen to know this too and if there is an alternative solution. Maybe there isn’t one?

The connect widget rarely worked and was buggy as heck. It may make a comeback in a future version.

So now users can only register to WP calling data from FB and then use FB auth to login also in WP? They know what are they doing. No more automatic user creation on connect, is it right?

Both login and register are still in there. The register plugin now uses FB’s registration widget, to make registering a pretty simple affair.

Otto, one thing I have noticed when using the plugin is that information such as the “First Name” and “Last Name” don’t get added to a new user’s profile when people register using the FB registration widget. Only the username, email and password. Are these fields something you have considered and not included on purpose?

If allowing the registration of contributers (as I am), your going to want to attribute an post using their real name.

Anyway, the plugin is great and some obvious hard work has gone into it. Shines out among the rest!

The old registration method used to do that, but when I switched to the newer code, that was slightly harder to implement. It’s an improvement I plan on making in the future.
