   I'm running into a problem using HTML tags in the Rich Text Editor.

   I am trying to use the less than (aka. < or <) symbols in one of my post, I would like to have the marks visible, so I originally tried entering the "<" symbol into the rich text editor, thinking it would convert it to HTML (ie <) Well, the rich text editor didn't. I then launched the HTML editor, and manually put in "<" in order to create the less than symbol, and when I click update in the HTML editor, it doesn't update the rich text editor with the proper text.

   The only thing that turned out right with the post, is when I put in < and > in the title bar, the title bar then looked correct.

   This also applies to the ">" ( > ) symbol also. Anyone have any ideas how I can enter a post using these symbols?

   If you want the symbols to show up, you'll need to use:

   & lt; for <
   & gt; for >

   minus the spaces between the & and l/g. At least, that's the only way I've been able to make them show up, even using the pre and code tags in Wordpress 2.0.2.

   It's even munching my comment as I try to respond now.

   I'm sorry, but I didn't even notice but in my origianl post I noted that I did try using & lt; (minus the space) and & gt; (minus the space). The rich text editor is not properly handling these symbols. There should be some distinction with the rich text editor vs. html editor, but it can't seem to handle it.

   Hrmm... I dunno then... using those symbols worked for me... I'm assuming you've tried including the part with the gt and lt symbols within code tags, is this a correct assumption?

   Yes, that is correct. It ends up working okay in the titlebar, but not in the post. I've tried using the HTML editor, and same thing occurs.

   And you're using 2.0.2? On checking your site, yes it looks like you are... Hrmmm. Let me play with things on my site for a bit.
