Make plugin "Word Replacer" skip over hyperlinks?

    wordpress 3.2.1
    word replacer Version 0.2.3

    ughh.. ok, any suggestions on how to get this plugin to skip over hyperlinks? its great, but I think this one is a bit over my head….

    I only am using this for replacement in blog posts, not pages, or titles,etc.. it is only blog content

    Hello gavintfn, thanks for using my plugin.

    To strip all links in your blog posts, please follow this step:

    1. put this in the Original field
    <a(.*)a>
    2. leave blank the Replacement field.

    3. Checklist on the Post column, Insensitive and Regex.
