    …which means its still on day light savings time…

    Or does it mean your server’s time hasn’t been adjusted for DST? Checked with your host?

    First off, WordPress out of the box doesn’t account for DST. There is more to the world than us North Americans and even those in the rest of the world who use DST change their clocks on different days than us.

    As for server clocks, very few hosts change them for DST as they usually have international customers (not everyone uses DST) and changing the clock can throw off scripts.

    GMT+0 is always the same, no matter the time of the year. So, either grab a plugin that’ll automatically change your GMT offset while DST is in effect (I forget the link off the top of my head, but you should be able to find one via the Codex) or just manually change your GMT offset to -4 which is what it really is now. 😉

    Hi HandySolo:

    I beg to differ. All the ISPs I know (all international but admittedly not many) make the switch. That’s one reason why we’re warned against having cron jobs run between 1:00 and 2:00 in the morning… twice a year they may f*ck up. :-}

    You might find the answer in your wp admin area. I can’t remember the page exactly, but I’m pretty sure it’s in Options somewhere — you can set the offset there.
