• HI

I’m just re-posting this issue because it was hidden on another thread, which was then marked as resolved when this particular issue isn’t resolved.

    other thread is here:
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-file-gallery-inserting-of-gallery-single-file-ie-troubles?replies=15

To re-cap: “Simple template” has some troubles with IE8+ . The first click on thumbnail is OK (detail is loaded), but next ones show “loading.gif” endlessly… (FF, Chrome, Opera – OK)

Apparently it might be to do with new jquery syntax and wp 3.2+ ?

At the moment the plugin is unusable if it can’t work with IE. Any plans to fix it?? Would be great as this simple template is really needed (all other gallery plugins are too OTT) and also the interface you’ve come up with for this plugin is really user friendly.

  • I’m looking into it right now. IE has a quirky, overly strict JavaScript engine, and is difficult to debug.

I think that the problem is in the IMG “(on)load” event, which seems to be a little buggy in all browsers, not just MSIE.

Also, please remember that the “Simple” template was added in just to show how things can work with JavaScript in the template, it’s basically a demo 🙂

I’m really low on free time, and sometimes it’s weeks before I can dedicate any of it to “File Gallery”.

    Thanks for understanding.

I’ve pushed v1.7RC-11 into repository, you can download it from here: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/file-gallery.1.7-RC11.zip

It should work properly in MSIE now – please test and tell me if you experience any other problems.

    Thank you! 🙂
