• Brand new install on a server where I have several other installs working fine.

I had earlier tried fantastico but it was a very buggy install. I have no ideas why. I have installed hundreds of wp blogs without these issues.

    I un-installed and then started the 5 minute install…..

wp-admin/install.php gives me this message in FF
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

    In Chrome I get this…..
The webpage at http://thaicookingschool.org/wp-admin/install.php has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

I have cleared all cookies and cookies are enabled.

I did not have this problem with the fantastico install…

Would love to know what is the cause of this issue.

    thanks
    Jules

  • Hi blocat,

If you’re using Fantastico, then likely you are using cPanel as well. Check the redirects in cPanel for any redirects that may have been created for your domain thaicookingschool.org. I even tried just going to http://thaicookingschool.org and received the error

    The page isn’t redirecting properly

If you do not see any redirects listed in the redirects area of cPanel, check to see if there is an .htaccess file in your document root (usually public_html). If you’re using the cpanel File Manager, make sure you check the option to

    Show Hidden Files

as the .htaccess file is a hidden file.

    Hope this helps!

    it helpful. thanks
