Hey, love this plugin, just need this one issue resolved and, well, i’m a snake catcher, not a web designer.

Is there a way to set the default single page parent to another page? I have the calendar on its own page and I’d like the “single event” page to inheret the layout from the calendar page. At the moment it defaults to a “single blog post” page with the parent being my blog page. Unfortunately its layout has to remain what it is so I would like the calendar to look elsewhere for its layout.

Hope this makes sense and I hope someone can help.

P.S. I am fine with editing my php files etc, just have no idea where to look for that specific bit of code.

    Cheers and thanks!

  • Go to your template directory and make a copy of single.php (if it’s a subtheme and single.php is missing you have to copy the file from the parent theme). Rename the new file to single-ai1ec_event.php. Look at the file page.php (default template file for the calendar) and copy relevant styling from there to single-ai1ec_event.php.

Yes, it goes in the theme directory where you also find single.php (page.php is for static pages, not posts).

    thanks very much¡

Brilliant – works a treat. Will this be overwritten on updating the plugin?
