   Hi. I am trying to create an account on wordpress.com to make a blog there (not download the software), and I receive the activation email. When I click on the link in it, all the page says is,
   "Want to download WordPress and run it yourself?
   Check out WordPress.org hosts."

   The page has the template header and footer, but no other information is there. It also appears that the account doesn't really activate, because I am able to go through the JOIN process again and request the same URL and it lets me. Thus I get another email with an activation link that doesn't work.
   HELP!

   Checkout the wordpress.COM forums at http://wordpress.com/forums . They may be able to help ya -- we're the wordpress.ORG folks. :-)

   I cannot create an account to post to their forums because the forum account is the same account I am trying to activate

   wookie1 - you created an account but got no password OR you have a password?

   I too tried. I'm getting the activation link, but no password.
