• Hi.
I discovered a bug in wordpress 0.71, related to the trackback-functionality (for outgoing trackbacks).
If you post a new entry to your blog, you can specify one or more URLs that should be used for the trackback feature. As part of the trackback request the excerpt of your own post should be sent. But wordpress 0.71 sends the content of the post instead, which (at least from my point of view) is a bug.
I posted a patch along with a bug report to the sf.net bug tracker, as ID#815636 : http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=815636&group_id=51422&atid=463233
My suggestion for the future would be to allow the user to change this behaviour, for example by introducing a new configuration variable. Some may prefer to have the content posted along with a trackback, others (like me) prefer to have the real excerpt instead. Another way would be to check if there is an excerpt defined and if not the content could be used instead.
    Bye, Mike
