Currently I have the structure as numeric as such:
http://www.ashbaughonline.com/archives/123
Everything works fine like that.
However I want to do the Date and name based structure like this:
http://www.ashbaughonline.com/2006/03/25/sample-post/
When I change the option to date and name based, some of archives just show an index page, with a list of the posts. Is there a way to fix this?
I also must mentioned that I imported from blogger sometime ago.

Always the key to this problem. Just visit your site through an ftp client, or if your host provides one, an online file manager, and delete all those dated Blogger archive directories still lingering around.
Unless you want to back them up first! If so, download everything in them, and THEN start deleting.
