Heh, yeah. You missed something pretty big.
WordPress is a CMS, not a forum tool.

Wait-a-sec… Isn’t this a forum?? Isn’t this a WP instal??
I guess the 60’s and 70’s were really good to me…
Whew, yeah too much time in the 60’s and 70’s. 😉
This is a forum, this is a CMS.
This is an example of a forum, this is an example of a CMS/Blog.
LOL, you should’ve read the about section first….and also the main page.

Hola unoamigo!
Your second example of a forum is this very place where we are… Question is, how do I set something like this up??
Gracias por tu ayuda!
Thanks for your help!
Heh, well, if you want something just like this. Click that first link!
This forum is run by miniBB 😉
Enjoy, have fun!
EnVK: these forums use different software than WordPress. These forums use a package called “minibb” (minimalistic bulletin board).
WordPress is a blog, a “one-to-many” (or possibly a “few-to-many”) publishing system, whereas forums are “many-to-many”.
In short, WordPress will not give you forums.
But it will give you a lot of fun 😉
