post title won't display when shared on facebook

    When I share a blog post on facebook (and presumeably other sites as well), the post title doesn’t show up in the feed.

    I AM posting the actual url. The image from the post displays, a snippet of characters from the post – just not the post title. Instead of “post title,” I get “Website Title” with the url below.

    What would cause this? I’ve checked my plug-ins and I’m fairly certain they aren’t causing this.

    Ideally I’d like: Website Title – Post Title Here

    Please advise. Thank you!

    I am having the same problem. Frustratingly I run several WP sites, and all except one works fine when sharing. I have tried disabling plugins on the site that won’t share properly, but that doesn’t help.

    So.. on my other sites, when I share to FB I get a nice thumbnail, post title and description, but on one particular site I just get the home URL and nothing else!

    I have compared header meta tags and they are the same between sites that do and don’t work!

    Any suggestions most gratefully received.

    Same problem over here.

    I’ve been looking for html or metadata I can modify to get what I’m looking for, but I’m coming up short.

    Hopefully someone smarter than me spots this and can tell us all what to do!

    As an update – it started working once I had set the site to be visible in search engines from the settings menu. I am also using the ‘Facebook Like Thumbnail’ plugin. Not sure if that’s helping or not, but it all works well now. M.
