• I opened my wordpress site today and I’ve lost many of the text-editing options that I had the last time I opened it: text justifying, fonts, & size in particular.

The editing menu bar now shows (starting from left), buttons for:
bold, italic, link, b-quote, del, ins, img, ul, ol, li, code, more, lookup, close tags, fullscreen, Photos.

I updated to v. 3.2.1 and it didn’t change. I opened on a different computer, and it shows this same (fewer options) menu bar. Any ideas???

    The theme is “Shadowbox” 1.5.4

    thanks! Tink.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

try installing the tnymce plugin (tiny mice)

I’ve tried the suggested solutions, without avail. It seems like the tnyMCE editor has gotten confused somehow, but I don’t see any place where I can upload it to my WordPress installation – it doesn’t seem to be a stand-alone plug in? There are a lot of auxiliary plug-ins that

      modify

    tnyMCE.

I tried the 2011 theme, I tried replacing the wp-admin and wp-includes. I de-activated all the plug-ins. Nothing seems to affect the editing options. I’m a bit hampered here because this is my wife’s blog, and I’m trying to fix it for her. I’m relying on her description of the text options that existed last week, and I don’t have a clear picture of what has changed, besides those options.

Many thanks to anyone who can shed light on this.

Followup: I just created a completely new test installation of WP, and find that the text editor (2011 theme) is indeed different in my wife’s installation – hers is displaying the HTML editor, not the Visual editor, and it doesn’t have any option to switch to Visual. Now what?

I got it working but I think you need 3.2.1 and it has to be .org love the plugin allows me to change font and color of the h tags can’t seem to get the code cleaner to work…any help?

Both the WP installs that I’m working with (my wife’s, and the new one I just made) are v3.2.1

Do you have a link for the plug-in you’re referring to?

    thanks
