Support » Plugins » microShop plugin paid hack help? add product options feature

I’m building a site for a local non-profit and the site is mostly all wordpress.

They will be selling items to help raise money and instead of installing an overkill oscommerce or cubecart, I think that redalt’s microshop plugin would be perfect:
    http://redalt.com/wiki/MicroShop

The only thing it seems to be missing is the ability to assign “options” to a product (like for the t-shirts they sell, the customer needs to see a “size” options dropdown box).

Is this where I would post to ask for paid help with this? Even though it’s for a non-profit, I don’t mind paying to get it to work if it saves me time messing with oscommerce/zencart.

Alternatively, there is another ecommerce plugin called wpshop. It’s missing the same “options” feature. If it would be easier to add options to that plugin, I’d be happy to use that one instead:

FWIW, I’ve emailed both developers asking for this. The first didn’t respond and the second said the feature would be months out because of a work backlog.

Simple workaround for you: For a t-shirt product enter three items: “Large t-shirt”, “Medium t-shirt”, “Small t-shirt” and so on.

oscommerce is not to hard to install or use. I used it once before and it was easy to moddify and their forum is very good. I managed to redesign the oscommerce too 🙂

I’m not sure how often Owen makes it here, you may try his support forum for more help.

I emailed Owen directly but got no response, that’s why I was opening it up as a paid project for a plugin developer

I’ve installed oscommerce before, but it’s WAY overkill for this project and wouldn’t be as seamless as a wpshop plugin.

I thought about the work around that marke1 suggested, but that doesn’t rank too high on the useability scale. If I have to, that will probably be my last resort.

Any plugin developers out there willing to take this on? 🙂

rodneyb: Is this where I would post to ask for paid help with this?

Not really. And even if you do so, please, leave a contact address, because posts that offer “paid support” are not allowed in the forum. They have to contact you in private.
Alternatively, you can post your request at the wp-pro mailing list:

    An even simpler alternative: http://cafepress.com/

@vkaryl: I’m very familiar with CafePress 🙂 That’s not exactly what I’m trying to do and wouldn’t work for this situation.

Besides t-shirts (that will be professionally screen printed), they will also be selling other items like child safety locks, tickets to events, etc.

Thanks for trying to help though.

@moshu Thanks for gently pointing me in the right direction. I figured there might be some issue with coders responding(that could cause a lot of spam), but when I searched around I didn’t see any rule posted.

If any coders happen across this, my email address is my wordpress forum username at gmail.

…off to try the wppro list 🙂
