• Hi
i’ve just installed a blank new WP install on a new server.

wp-admin appears to work fine but going to http://www.mydomain.com shows a completely blank page, no images, css, nothing. Viewing the source shows it to be totally empty.

I can see in the backend that there is the hello world test post but when i click the view link to preview i get the blank page again.

Any ideas what may have happened?

  • Hi oliverm,

I would make sure there’s not another page displaying, such as a placholder (default.htm, index.html, etc.) What happens when you go directly to the index.php file?

    I hope this helps!

even happens when I go to the php file.

    Hi oliverm,

Have you checked your .htaccess file? Also I would replace the index.php with the default one that comes with the installation to see if that corrects the issue. Do you have a URL so we can see whats happening for ourselves?

    Thanks!

    Hi oliverm,

Sorry, I should have mentioned too, if you have access to your error logs, check in them to see if theres an error that is occurring.

    Thanks!

Theres nothing in the error log except for the usual comment about a missing favicon. It’s literally blank.

I’ve tried pointing the browser at a test.php page with the phpinfo() function in it and that loads fine. The wp-admin site also loads.

    Try http://84.45.78.99
