Well, yours truly will be using it a TON. I'm too old to have a firm grasp in memory of the 3000 threads that I might need to keep track of, and since my bookmarks folder is an UNHOLY mess as it is....
Thanks!
Wow, thanks Matt.
About time... thanks Matt, for everything...
I gave it another go just today and was blown awy.
Thanks for all your work!
How to use the new Search
1. Click on the SEARCH button near the top of the screen.
2. Enter the term, or terms, you want to search for in the text box.
3. In the Restrict Search, check one or more boxes for the areas to Search:
*Documentation = Codex - http://codex.wordpress.org
*Support Forums = http://wordpress.org/support/
*WP.org Blogs = example - http://wordpress.org/development/
*Bug Database = Trac - http://trac.wordpress.org
4. Click the Search button to see the results.
If your search doesn't return the 'best' results, click on the "Suggest a Better Result" link to propose a better result for your search terms. Moderators will then approve your suggestion so others may benefit from your experience.
groovy
This is much better, thanks. You really find things!
If I might wish for something more, it would be some formatting of the results page. As it stands, I can only see six results without scrolling. They take up 800 pixels of vertical space at "normal" font setting.
( Firefox on Windows )
Great job - thank you.
Great, Matt!
Again, great work! I think you are the candidate that finally solves how to force that people select a category before they can publish their posts ;-)
yes good job. it would be useful to have a page here in wordpress with a form that can be used to do search site:wordpress.org similar to what http://www.webmasterworld.com/searchform.cgi search is using.
all the best
Much much better, great work.
Thanks matt! Search was always a pain before. Nice job!
Much Better... Thanks!
The only thing I can think to add is a date for the each of the results ... it's helpful to know *when* each thread was posted.
I mentioned that at the meetup - that sorting by thread number would be useful. I have no idea if / when / how that can be done but then matt's the coder :)
