• I’ve set up The Events Calendar with the slug “Events”, and added a menu item to my primary menu called Events.

No matter what page I’m on, the Events slug is displaying with class code that has it highlighted as the current page.

    <li id="menu-item-243" class="menu-item menu-item-type-custom menu-item-object-custom current-menu-item current-menu-item current_page_item menu-item-243">

So I constantly have 2 pages with current page highlighting.

It doesn’t matter whether there is actually a page named “Events” or not, and it doesn’t matter what theme I use.

Does anyone else have this issue?

  • Hi PHPadam,

This is a legit bug we are fixing for 2.0.1. In the mean time, someone suggested a solution on the pro forum: http://tri.be/support/forums/topic/main-navigation-for-events-stays-permanently-in-on-state/.

If christina doesn’t post her solution by tuesday or wednesday, I’ll have john figure it out and post a temporary fix.

    Thanks Shane,

I will anxiously await 2.01 and deal with it until then.

    Much obliged.

Hi, I have 2.01 loaded and I am having the opposite problem — I’ve given my calendar page the name “Calendar” rather than “Events” — the Calendar shows up fine, but on my menu the page name does not show as current, and when I check the code it does not say current-menu-item as it does for any of the other pages when they are selected. Any ideas? Other than this, the plug-in works great. Thanks!

Hey 2cats. Do you have a site we can check out where this is happening?

Hi Rob, Thank you for your reply. I just added the calendar to a second site — still very much in development 🙂 — but you can view the issue at http://tigerlilysattic.com/tigerlily/schedule/ — the “schedule” page is the calendar page, and you can see that the link does not show as active/current, although the other pages do. I tried swapping out my theme for the Twenty Eleven theme and the problem still exists. In both sites I have given the calendar page a different name than “events”, could that have anything to do with it? Thanks again.

Thanks 2cats. I was just able to recreate that on your site myself; I believe this problem was an issue that we’ve resolved in the 2.0.2 code base (which we’re putting the finishing touches on now). I was previously having that same issue but since installing the new code, I’m not.

Any chance you can wait to update a few days? And then drop me a note (rob at tri.be) if it doesn’t fix your issue, so I can look further into it directly?

    Dear Rob,

Thank you so much, yes, I can certainly wait, and look forward to the update. Your calendar program is great — easy to customize and perfect for our needs. I really appreciate your quick response. Thanks again!

Thanks for the words 🙂 Always happy to help. If anything else comes up, feel free to let me know and I’ll do what I can to assist.

    Dear Rob,

Any update on this? When will the next release happen? Thanks!

    Gavin

Hey Gavin. Next release is happening Monday; we’d planned for today buy half the team had babies this week so we’re shortstaffed. The code is ready to go and will be pushed out first chance we get on Monday morning.

Hi Rob, Hoping that you can help. I have not upgraded to 2.0.3 because of the disappearing fields in the venue/organizer information. Someone said that setting permalinks fixed this, but I’ve got permalinks set and that didn’t happen, so I have not upgraded my live site. So my problem now is that I need to change a number of “organizer” website links. I’ve gone into the post and post_meta tables but the post IDs don’t seem to match up — I can’t tell in post_meta which link is attached to which post. Any ideas on how I can do this, without individually re-entering each event? Is there a bug fix en route for this? If you’d like to see the site, it is http://treehousebainbridge.com , and I want to create more direct links to the ticketing pages. (“Buy Tickets” = “Organizer”) Thanks!

Hey 2cats: thanks for the heads up. The easiest solution I can suggest would be to email me (rob at tri.be) for the current pre-2.1 beta code that most everyone who’s tested has confirmed fixed the disappearing fields issue. If you gave that a go we could see if it resolved your other issue. Are you interested? If so shoot me an email (rob at tri.be) and I’ll hook you up.

If the issue persists from there, though, would you mind posting it as a separate thread (as it seems the issue you’re noting is rather different and I don’t want to create confusion for other users)? Thanks in advance.
