• Hi,

Ive had past WP install in mt root and at the end of the day the files got mixed up with all my other stuff in my root directory so now Ive installed WordPress in a folder, although I run it as my main site.

My question is, is this wise or is it better to install in the root or does it even matter?

    Pros and cons?¿

    thanks!

  • There is no good or bad answer here.

I like to put it in the “root” as you call it because I do not have any reason to create a subfolder. That said, if it creates confusion for you… do what’s best for you.

I really think you’re the only one that could find pros/cons of doing it in a way or another.

If you plan to use MultiSite, you should put it in root. Otherwise, it doesn’t matter.
