[Plugin: Five Star Rating] where do I put it in the "template" I don't understand

Great plugin. I got the shortcode to work, but I don’t understand how to use the echo function so I do not have to paste it in for each post.

I read, but I do not understand what is meant by:

Just add the following code to your template where you want it to appear: <?php echo five_star_rating_func(‘star’); ?>

Most of my posts consist of a single video. How do I make it so the rating appears underneath each video?
