Someone mentioned adding display:none to the css file on lines that include comments?
your theme does not have an unique css class for that area.
try to locate ‘the_loop’ (http://codex.wordpress.org/The_Loop_in_Action) in your front page template (index.php ?) and look for a line with the_date();
and/or the_author()
somewhere before the endwhile;
of the loop.
